We have another video review for you today!
Earlier this year we reviewed "The Book of Three" by Lloyd Alexander. Afterward, our family continued reading through the rest of the Prydain Chronicles. The second book in the series, "The Black Cauldron," was a Newbery Honor... so we figured we'd work up another submission for the 90-Second Newbery Film Festival...
This time, the review is a solo effort by Lily! She summarized the book all on her own and later did all the pictures. The movie does run over 90 seconds, but I didn't have the heart to cut a single precious second from it.
Here's Lily's take on "The Black Cauldron" -- enjoy! And feel free to share :)

That was a fantastic video, good job Lily! Gurgi is so cute, he's always been a favorite, but I loved that you included Elonwy yelling at Taran. I always felt bad for him because he was forever being yelled throughout the series. :)
Awesome! Made me smile and giggle. One of my favorite series of books.
The Colorado Z-Kids say, "That was great!" "It was interesting." "Funny. Creative. Awesome." "It was better than having a pocketful of dancing chihuahuas." We LOVED it, Lily!
Fabutastic!!
I have to say that the video reviews (2 of them?) have been enormously entertaining.
Nice job!
Well, that's just about the most precious thing (yes, I said precious, because it is!) I've ever watched. And yes, I definitely want to read The Black Cauldron now. Do you think my 7 year old would like it, Lily?
I love your video! The pictures are really wonderful. It looks like a great book.
OH MY WORD! This is the most amazing video. I am so so soooooo impressed... funnily enough we have an animation coming next week. But yours is simply brilliant! I am glad you didn't cut any of it!
Thanks for sharing on Kids Get Crafty!

Great video, I'm quite inspired to try this with kids in School.
THIS. IS. AWESOME. Great job, Lily!!!
PS just showing it to a friend... what software did you use?
Thanks for the nice comments everyone!
Amy: Our 5 year old has been listening along - he's been enjoying it!
RedTedArt: I prepared the images/text in Photoshop and then compiled everything in iMovie

Thanks for linking up at Feed Me Books Friday - the video is wonderful! I've been struggling to motivate my kindergartner to put more effort into the drawings he is doing for story responses at school - maybe offering to turn it into a movie would help!
